ABOUT MEADOWS ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING, INC.

Richard F. Meadows, President of Meadows Electrical Contracting, Inc., grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from Davidson High School in 1974. He attended Auburn University, taking classes in electrical engineering and business, and met Suzanne, his wife of 42 years, while a student there.

Richard founded Meadows Electric Service in the summer of 1980 after working for International Paper for several years and part-time with several electrical contractors following Hurricane Frederic. He received his Master Electrician certification from the City of Mobile at that time, and in 1986 he passed the first State of Alabama exam ever administered and received license #31.

In subsequent years he obtained Electrical Contractor licenses from the states of Mississippi and Florida. In 1996 the business was incorporated as Meadows Electrical Contracting, Inc.

The company has performed hundreds of service and new construction jobs along the Gulf Coast, including motels, convenience stores, restaurants, retail shops, schools, residential housing, and generator installations.

In 2008, Daniel Meadows, the middle of 3 sons, joined Meadows Electrical Contracting, Inc. Daniel is currently the Vice President and holds a State of Alabama General Contractor License.

In September of 2013, Richard was appointed to the State of Alabama Electrical Contractors Board by Governor Robert Bentley. He is a past President of the Master Electrician Association of Alabama and a current board member. Richard is also on the Board of Electrical Examiners for the City of Mobile, which is charged with enforcing license certifications for all electricians and electrical contractors in the city.

Richard is a Kingswood United Methodist Church member and is on the Board of Trustees there, which oversees all buildings and property.
